Target audience for our music video – The target audience for our music video will be teenagers and young adults as our video will be based around partying and having fun. It will be Hallowe’en too, and it is usually younger people that dress up for this festivity. Is it usually girls that listen to this type of music and also the artist, Ke$ha, herself. Another reason we chose this target audience is because we would be categorized into this too so therefore we know what sort of things we like and how we can make our music video appeal to them more. Research the chosen artist – Ke$ha’s real name is “Kesha Rose Sebert and she was born on March 1, 1987. She is an American singer-songwriter and her music is inspired by other artists such as Madonna, Queen and Beck. She embraces individuality and not being normal. Her image is the “drunken party girl” type and she dresses in provocative clothing, often alongside heavy make up and a lot of glitter. In her music videos, she seems to take a deep interest into mythical animals/creatures and also spiritual types of tribes and beliefs. Her main concerns and messages that she tries to get across are to just enjoy life, and she stands up to bullying and equality; Kesha is also bisexual. It is mainly young girls that follow her on sites such as Twitter and “like” her Facebook page, even though her songs appeal to older teenagers/young adults. i.e. sex. However, some of her songs are also appropriate so this can appeal to a younger audience too.
